Equestrian Activities at RBR

Trail Riding:

One of the best ways to view the scenic wonder of Redbeard's Ranch is on horseback.  Our gentle horses will carry you through the meadows, over the creeks and along the woodland trails for a guided Ozark trail ride to remember.

Our trails are designed to accommodate riders at any skill level.  Each session includes "Horsemanship 101" ... an introduction to your horse along with some "driver's" training in the saddle.  Formal riding lessons emphasizing balanced seat and rider confidence are also available by reservation.

Riding Lessons:

RBR now offers riding lessons for riders of all ages and disciplines (barrels, poles, jumping up to 4', Western / English, Pleasure and Horsemanship).  Our trails provide beginner to advanced challenge on 295 acres of Ozark hill country.

Carrie Erickson, RBR riding instructor, grew up around horses in northern Minnesota.  She was riding horses before she could walk.  She participated in 4H, showing western and, at 17, she joined the United States Pony Club and fell in love with jumping.  She went on to attend the Rocky Mountain College for Equestrian Studies in Billings, Montana.  In addition to teaching riding lessons at RBR, she currently rides the trails in Missouri National Forrests, competes in local cattle sorting and belongs to several local riding clubs where she runs barrels, poles and pleasure classes.

Equestrian Camping:

If you prefer to bring your own horse, we can accommodate day rides or overnight horse camping.  Relax and enjoy a peaceful ride on 295 acres of Ozark wilderness surrounded by riverfront and conservation land.  Large groups and special events may be accommodated by advanced reservation.

MISSOURI STATE LAW REQUIRES CURRENT COGGINS TEST OR, IF FROM OUT OF STATE, A CURRENT HEALTH CERTIFICATE.

Kiddie Rides are an excellent option for younger riders.  Gentle horses are hand-led by employees while a parent walks along beside the rider.
